NPC journal for
kyriakos.
»» In mythic times of old, the gods got sick of Creation and humanity along with it and decided they were going to wipe it out and go fuck off to be gods somewhere instead. The spirits, who were a part of Creation, got wind of this and were worried. Wilder the Trickster, a local legend, happened upon some spirits discussing this and decided he would save everyone (mostly because he thought life and humanity were pretty awesome and didn't want everyone, especially him, to be destroyed). So he convinced the spirits to bless him with superhuman gifts, used those gifts to ascend to the realm of the gods, and then used his wits to defeat all the gods and steal their godhood. Having saved Creation, he then became the trickster-king of the world, with the spirits as his advisors.
»» For a few hundred years everything was great, until the spirits got bored of the mundane realm and went off to slumber beneath the earth, or dance in the moonlight, or whatever spirits do. And Wilder the Trickster was left to rule without their guidance. Which he sucked at. Because he was a good trickster, not a good king. He became a lazy tyrant; sometimes when there was a threat to the realm he'd rise up and come up with a genius solution, but mostly he just gambled and slept around and indulged his immortal ass. Heroes tried to rise up to slay him, but since he was a god, they all died in the attempt and he continued to reign.
»» Finally, one day, a pair of twin sisters used their wits and the help of the spirits to defeat him, cut off his head, separate it from his body so that he couldn't threaten them again, and keep him around as a talking severed head so that he could give them clever advice in emergencies. And they became hero-princesses who ruled justly with the help of Wilder the Trickster's severed head.
»» Until the worlds were all destroyed and Wilder the Trickster drifted into Kyriakos as an echo, pissed off that this time he hadn't been able to save Creation and humanity.
